Singaporeans can soon get their hands on limited edition bank notes featuring Bhutan's Crown Prince.

The Bhutanese notes, which were launched to commemorate the birth of Crown Prince Jigme Namgyel Wangchuk, will be available from Friday (March 23), said the Singapore Mint on Tuesday.

The notes have a face value of 100 Ngultrum ($2.02) and will be sold at S$25 each.

The Crown Prince celebrated his second birthday last month. He was born on Feb 5, 2016 to the Kingdom's Fifth King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk and Queen Jetsun Pema.

The Singapore Mint is the appointed marketing agent for Bhutan's Royal Monetary Authority, reported Channel NewsAsia.

According to the report, one million pieces are available worldwide and Singapore will have a "limited allocation".

They can be purchased from Singapore Mint's e-store and its retail outlets at Chinatown Point, City Square Mall and Suntec City, as well as Singapore Mint's head office at Teban Gardens Crescent.

According to the Singapore Mint, the notes can also be purchased at the Singapore International Coin Fair 2018, held at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre from March 23 to 25.

The notes will be sold at S$15 each at the fair and are limited to the first 1,000 pieces purchased each day on a first-come, first-served basis. Each customer is limited to five pieces.
